When you stop eating bread, you tend to fantasize about it being this incredible food. It was with this thought I made LC Foods Pan Bread. The spongy, bland bread had a tough texture that resisted almost any effort to chew it. I choked on it, as did my husband. This product was two thumbs down from the both of us.
This versatile product can be bought on Amazon. It makes excellent muffins, pancakes, biscuits and waffles. The secret to lighter biscuit is to use cream. In the end, you have to make the bread, which is about a twenty minutes.
Bob's Red Mix was probably cost the most at 6.99 for one loaf of bread, but other ingredients had to be added raising the price closer to $8 for one loaf of bread. I actually bought a bread machine to use this imagining hot delicious bread. I followed the recipe exactly and the bread came out a garbled mess. I believe the directions are incorrect. Did not try this again. Two thumbs down. It is also hard to obtain this mix in local stores too.
Recently i discovered healthy life bread in my local Meijers store. It is 5 net carbs for two slices bread. Using a no carb meat and mayonnaise and I have a 5 carb sandwich. The slices tend to be dry, airy, and thin. It doesn't have a great deal of taste, but it makes toast, grilled cheese, and PBJ & BLTs all workable.
It also costs the same as a regular loaf of bread.
